Last week I noticed a place on 10th Ave just south of Calle 26 ( south of the now closed Herradura restaurant.) They had a tray full in the window. They looked good but I didn't have time to try any.

One year...I think it was 2009....Nora, one of the owners of Mom's....made us her homemade empanadas and even her own hot sauce and she invited Brenda and I into her home for breakfast....it was awesome....then she made enough for us to take outside and pass around to others who were staying at Mom's. They were very good!!

Teddy,

I think the place you are trying to come up with with a name for is Don Tomato. The empanadas are pretty good, especially the vegetable filled ones. I am not as impressed with the meat filled varieties.\\John and Deb

I would like to eat some empanadas right now. OMG I'm hungry.
Where is "Centro Maya" and how do I find these ladies? Mucho gracias on my empanada search.
BTW, the shrimp appetizer empanadas at La Pesca are damn delicious!
