Unless you threw a rod or did the crank it is most likely rebuildable but you could view this situation as a great opportunity to put in a real motor for a reasonably moderate cost!
Almost any of the small block chevy family with dead nuts reliability can get you upwards of 350 hp easily and live forever. Just get a crate engine (esp.weight saving aluminum head variety) to give you a lot more to enjoy and I hear they are very easy to drop in for any Jeep model.
This probably isn't news to you as a Jeep enthusiast, as I'm sure you well aware of the popularity of the swap being done by off-roaders and hill climbers for years...
