Walk from Sandos Playacar to 5th Avenue?

Does anyone know how long of a walk (approximate miles ? or time?) to walk from Sandos Playacar to 5th Avenue? Can I walk along the beach? Thank you in advance

I usually did it in approx 20 to 30 minutes depending how fast I walked via the road. The last time I was in Playa, 2010, I walked to town and back via the beach but it took a bit longer.

Just last week I walked from the Riu Playacar to 5th in about 20 min. Sandos is 5 minutes farther than the Riu. Not a bad walk and it was pretty warm that day. There's a fair amount of shade early in the morning too.
I took a cab home. Seven bucks or 70 pesos, so there's a good reason to change a few dollars to pesos.

Walk from Sandos

Count on it being a solid half hour walk. I walked the roadway in to Playa every morning when I stayed there last May. Continued on to calle 14 to feed the kitties. Headed back for a fresh squeezed OJ at the cart by the bus station...relaxed by the park...then walked the beach back. Lovely way to start a day.

I am planning to spend my vacancies at Playa del Carmen. Could you guys provide me with some information about hotels, bars and restaurants (as far as you made good experiences with). I'd be very thankful for suggestions that have been preselected at a time. Thank in advance for your replies!

You can walk along the beach into 5th avenue. I would guess about 45 minutes via the beach since it is slower to walk on the beach then the sidewalk. Lots of nice homes and condos on your way.

We have walked it before and would have walked back, had it not been for the four bottles of liquor and other items. I would guess somewhere in the two mile range (US) as it was probably about a 35 minute walk at a normal pace.

I used the measure function on google earth and it's about 2 miles along the beach.

I power walk and did so almost every morning from Sandos to the very outskirts of town. At a good clip ( 4 mph) it usually took me 20-25 mins or so, so a perfect 40- 45 min walk to start the day!

Thanks everyone. Great answers, I appreciate it. Can't wait to put on my walking shoes (well flip flops) and hit the beach
