Announcing the new Playa Animal Rescue

On behalf of the Board of Directors we are excited to announce the formation of a new charity dedicated to the rescue, care, and adoption of distressed street animals in Playa Del Carmen. The organization has chosen the name “Playa Animal Rescue”.
Playa Animal Rescue will take over the care of the Peanut Pet Shelter dogs, currently located in Akumal. In addition, Playa Animal Rescue will assume the care of the puppies and cats at the PPS puppy house in the Ejido. In the near future, a site will be acquired in Playa Del Carmen and developed to shelter and care for all of the rescued animals.
A new non-profit corporation has been formed and is being registered. A board of directors has been established along with an expanded support group of dedicated animal lovers. In the meantime, until new accounts are established for donations, please continue with your donations to PPS, which will be used by Playa Animal Rescue to care for animals during this transition.
We are excited to announce that “Aussie” Gary Forsythe has been appointed by the Board as President of Playa Animal Rescue. The Playa Animal Rescue Board and Support Group will strive to bring together the animal lover community and organizations, from Playa Del Carmen to Tulum, for the welfare and well being of all animals.

We will continue to SAVE the street dogs of Playa and with YOUR help & donations, attendance at fundraisers etc. "PAR" WILL TAKE CONTROL over these helpless animals and find them "forever homes" !

It's all about the animals wandering the streets

Before we go too much farther ..... I would like to say this : Deb & I would like to THANK Andy from the bottom of our hearts for what he & Jen had originally started in PDC. If not for their tireless efforts over the past 5 years the street dogs of Playa would have perished by now ! Deb & I adopted 2 babies from the PPS, Taco ( 2 yrs ago ) and Burrita ( last June ) and we've never been more proud and more in LOVE with than I can say !

Time marches forward .... and with Andy getting married to his sweetheart Penny ( from Canada ) he has decided to "retire" from the PPS and move forward with his NEW family in Canada. We "respect" his wishes and wish him continued success in the coming years of his life with his new family !

Andy mate, we LOVE YOU, and will miss you and your forever charm and willingness to treat us all to a very "special time" while we were in Playa !

Mate, i mean this from the bottom of my heart, YOU have been very special to Deb & I and a TON of other peeps ..... we wish you the BEST in your future and may GOD BLESS YOU MATE !

Duck ,you wrote it so eloquently! We all have such respect and thankfullness for what Andy, and Jen, started, such special people! But, there's always an ebb and flow in life and that is what is happening now. We are all behind PAR 100%! ready to move forward, get the new site set up, and taking off!

will those of us that donate to PPS monthly be notified of the change to the Playa Animal Rescue or will the auto paypal just continue to PPS even though that will not exist soon. I don't check here very often but want my funds to go to the right place. I know now they are going towards to new goal but.....

regardless...thanks to all & cant wait to actually move down to our condo ft to help

For now..you can continue to donate in the same way as always and the donation will go to PAR. Everyone will be notified if and when a change is made. We sincerely appreciate everyones support

Exactly!! That is all I have ever wanted.

So many dogs like Taco, Burrita, Emmie, Rita, Kitty...etc. have started out with tough lives and now they are spoiled rotten. (That is the way all animals should be treated!)
