My Last Night in Playa!....Until next time....
Trish, Stephanie and I had a great time last trip and vowed we'd at least try to travel around the same dates in upcoming years. I planned this trip so I could visit Stephanie and Scott at least one night. They are a wonderful people- a blast to be with, great listeners and great conversationalists. I'm greatful I could see them my last night (their first night) in Playa! We agreed to meet at Zenzi's Beach Club Lounge for Monday night movies on the beach. Movies on the beach is a great concept. Very cool to be watching a flick on the beach w/ the night air and stars, yet we were not "into" the movie. We were much more into chatting and catching up! Stephanie and Scott traveled with her sister and brother-in-law who I met that night- also great people. Us at Zenzi's ![]() I ate dinner at Zenzi's, for I couldn't pass up the coconut shrimp! It was so delish!! I also treated myself to a piece of key lime pie w/ no guilt, nothing like a taste of the tropics on my last night! ![]() ![]() Zenzi's is great. I've visited in the past and will continue to return & recommend. The owner, Jez is friendly and honored a 10% discount card from a several years back and encouraged me to keep it for future use! Good food & drinks and fair prices considering the beachfront location. I've heard they offer attractive prices on outdoor massages. Seems Lucy has recommended them. Zenzi Beach Club Lounge - Playa del Carmen Mexico Zenzi's at night (By the way, does anyone know the accommodations above Zenzi's?) ![]() Beautiful Stephanie (movie screen in background) ![]() The happy couple- Trish & Chad- That is NOT a ghost behind them, it's a man appearing on the movie screen. Kind of spooky. ![]() ![]() Beth, Steph, Trish & Chad ![]() Next stop for the night was Restaurant & Bar FAH- attached to the same property as Siesta Fiesta Hotel, right next door to Posada Freud on 5th b/t 8th and 10th. We listened to live music outdoors. Great atmosphere. Love the tye dye table coverings. (Scott and I stayed at Posada Freud 5 years back, which was much cheaper than now. We paid around $30-$40 dollars for a room, per night, off season. They no longer rooms that cheap. Posada Freud was re-vamped with updates and now has higher prices.) Posada Freud: Playa del Carmen Hotel - Posada Freud 5th Avenue in the Heart of Playa Bar FAH/Hotel Siesta Fiesta: Hotel Bar Fah in Playa del Carmen ![]() ![]() ![]() We were lucky enough to hang w/ Chandler from Friends “Matthew Perry”, & I begged for his autograph! ...Matthew Perry a.k.a. Chad! Look at the resemblance! ![]() ![]() ![]() Fun night w/ friends! ![]() ![]() ![]() After saying my goodbyes and “until we meet again next year”, I walked slowly down 5th and soaked in the nightlife of Playa & took a cab back to Playacar. Bye Playa kitty! Looks VERY well fed for a Playa street kitty. ![]() ![]() Bye Mr. Cabbie. ![]() ...and look what was waiting for me! A gift certificate to La Mission in Playa! Thank you Mo and Joe! They won it during Coco's raffle and passed it on to me- so kind! Now I have a REALLY good reason to return! Mo also send me back with other gifts. She has a “goodie” basket for her guests who rent their home and offered me the same “goodies” which included a tee shirt (which Scott loved) and some foodie treats! Big Thanks to you Mo for your one of a kind hospitality! ![]() ![]() What a great end a vacation.....lots of time spent w/ friends...a vacation that was not so “solo” after all!

A Visit with Family during a LONG Layover
I had a very long lay over in Ft. Lauderdale which allowed me to visit my lovely cousin Rachel who lives nearby (West Palm area). She picked me up for dinner and shopping. We ate at Dockers Bar and Cafe, just minutes from the airport. It was very affordable and it overlooks a cove yacht basin. Great waterfront location.Dockers :: Home I'd recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area or anyone with enough time during a layover to check out! Rachel has a baby, Riley who is the same age as Lucia- born just a couple weeks later. It was the second time I'd seen adorable Riley! Last year when they visited Michigan, they were able to see snow in April! Go figure, given the unpredictability of Michigan weather! Seeing Riley, made me miss my own baby! I was ready to head home and see my Lucia! ![]() Dockers Bar and Cafe- Ft. Lauderdale, FL ![]() ![]() My cousin Rachel & Baby Riley ![]() A beautiful day to do a little shopping before I head back to the airport! ![]() ![]() ![]() Happy Riley! ![]() Beth, sleepy Riley and Rachel ![]() Many of my fathers family reside in Florida (including my father during the winter months). When we are not vacationing in Playa, we try to travel to the sunshine state to visit family. Actually next month, we're heading to West Palm to see my Dad. We'll also see Rachel and Riley! It will be our first plane ride with Lucia! Although I'll be in the tropics, I'll miss traveling to Playa. I cannot wait to bring Lucia there. We've talked about Scott, Lucia and I heading to Playa this winter or spring- so be on the lookout for yet another trip report! Thanks so much for reading!!!!!! Thanks for being patient with my completion! ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to show off some updated photos of my Lucia Kai at 14 months old (December 2011) ![]() ![]()

Tawny Kitaen...Matthew Perry...you are kind of an autograph seeker. I am a bit saddened that you have never asked for my autograph.
![]() Just teasing, amiga, I haven't read your whole report, yet, but just caught that part and had a good laugh. TG and I miss you guys! |
