New location and new restaurants

Just heard today that the Blue Lobster (or was it Big Lobster) is moving from their current location to AV. 5 and calle 38 area.

A new steak and lobster restaurant is supposed to be opening in the same area also as well as a Mediterrean fusion restaurant.

The bad news (and good news) is they will probably be replacing restaurants that have closed in that area.

They still own the Blue Lobster and this is their 2nd restaurant. We had 2 excellent meals at the new Drupa38 there week. It's almost on the corner of 5th av and 38th st (the ex-Cocina38 location). Prices are reasonable (similar to Como Como) and food is great. It's my new favorite restaurant in Playa. Try the pumpkin Date cake or the creme brulee for desert. Ohhh!

We also did Drupas and had a great meal. I bet the level of service backs off though!

I ran into Diego, the chef from Cocina 38, the other day. He is still the cook even though it looks like his family is no longer the proprietors. Glad to see that people are enjoying the new place, and we'll get there this week. I think, if they are anything like the old Cocina, the service will stay great.
