Thanks Big Fish.
That's a very good way to do it, and have used that technique

Denada Babs....but you made it look prettier!
Our painter (who I don't use as a painter anymore) crossed over to become a mafia taxi guy...as he wanted me to pay him for painting work done...I asked him for this favour...a copy of the rates
I did block out his taxi number tho before scanning so he didn't get into trouble.

It still pisses me off that I can go from aviacion ave (plaza antigua by playacar gate) to 60 st in colosio for 25pesos, yet 100yds the other side of playacar gate to say walmart or even closer is 70p

Got into an argument with a cab driver on Sat. night. I gave him the 20 pesos and he said it was 40 pesos. We started arguing he threw the 20 pesos back at me, I threw the 20 pesos back at him. Jumped out of the back seat around to his door and asked him if he still had a problem with my 20 pesos, ready to open his door and slap him. I was pissed.

At that point he answered no and drove off, 4 minutes after all that excitement I realized that I had left my cell phone on the back seat. I tried calling my phone several times but he never answered. Eventually he closed the phone.

My 20 pesos argument cost me $300.

It's a small town, I can't wait to bump into this guy again.

It's drivers like this guy that make you hate all the other ones.

Pay the 20 and walk.
No problem. No argument.

Live & learn
I wanted him to explain to me how he came up with the 40 pesos rate.

Next time it happens (and I know it will) there won't be any argument, maybe just a little sign language. lol

Are the cabs at Mega considered regular rate or stand rate?

Or are the stand rates only apply to 5th ave.?

No. You were ripped off.
Three blocks.
They all work from the same chart.

Nothings says a cabbie can't modify his own chart. Wouldn't surprise me.

Nothing says they can't attempt to charge you 50 pesos within zone 1, but that isn't the rate.
I don't ask to see their rate chart because I know the rate.

Is the surcharge from a queue always 5 pesos?

Rick, without your handy dandy rate sheet, I probably would have gotten ripped off last time I was there. I keep it in my purse in case I have to argue, but haven't had to yet...paying and walking off works!

The taxis that queue up at Mega as you come out the door charge more than a taxi you might get if you went out to the street. There is a surcharge, there just is.
