Zone 9 to zone 5(playacar) is 65 pesos. I thought Playacar was 70p. I guess we'll find out in a while.

70 pesos from Zone 1 - Screw the tourists!
It's cheaper for zones that have residents that may actually work in Playacar.

Taxi's around playa has become a great way to get around quite easily, though they try to take advantage when drinking heavily.

Cheryl's like "no way, keep walking"!!

Im leaving for Playa in a week and a half... so glad I found this thread!

Printed a smaller double-sided copy of the map with rates and plastified the whole thing like the geek I am!

Thanks!

I do agree knowing the rates protects you but it does introduce a more unpleasant little game in which you may find yourself having to haggle to get out of someone trying to rip you off in the first place. Not the most interesting holiday activity, we could all do without.

It's like this in many places though. C'est la vie!

No. There is no haggling.
Get to your destination, pay the fare (if you know the fare) and walk.
Easy.

So,
The prices grow as the night passes to morning?
This would concern me as I enjoy late nights.

Rick flipped out on a cabbie last night for trying to charge us too much. We ended up staggering home, instead.

The night of the Guadalupe (Virgin Mary) birthday celebration we took a cab from calle 24 and 10th to the church in the colosio area around 30th and calle 60.

Got there and gave the cabbie 50 pesos expecting change and he demanded $5 USD !
Told him to go intercourse himself.
