Ultimate AI Luxury Resort: Zoetry, Excellence Playa Mujeres or Secrets Maroma Beach?

My wife and I want to get away for a few days and be UTTERLY pampered and spoiled. We just want to swim, read, and nap and never ever have to lift a finger. (Kind of like taking a 6* cruise ship or chartered yacht, but on land.)

If budget were no object - which of these (or do you recommend others?) AIs would you recommend as the most luxurious with the highest level of service in the Riviera Maya?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

ive always thought that staying at the rosewood mayakoba in those ocean front suites or banyan tree mayakoba would be pure bliss.

When we started coming here, we treated ourselves to a week at Royal Hideaway in Playacar. No wrist bands, concierge in every building of around 16 rooms. The pool and beach service are top end and it seemed that every staff member in the place new our names in about three hours. Very lay back, fine dining, and sleepy at night. Might be just what you need.

Ron - these are Shammy's suggestions, actually!

Maggie - Iberostar Grand looks, well, GRAND! I was hoping to maybe find something a bit smaller though... We're leaning toward the Zoetry - its only got 92 rooms.

Oh, and the Mayakoba looked FABULOUS, but it was pushing the edge of where we felt comfortable, pricewise. The Tides looked really nice as well...

Can't comment on Zoetry, since I have yet to go. But the other two are both fabulous properties. Amazing, even. I like the Iberostar Grand, the butler thing is a nice addition. It's almost too shi-shi for me, I almost feel like my parents would like it very much...like an older, retired kind of place.

Aside from ultimate luxury and being pampered, what do you enjoy? Are you a beach or pool person?

As I said, both are great, and they have small differences. Secrets Maroma has a nicer beach, EPM has a nicer pool. EPM has a really nice gym. And I like the EPMs food better.

Shammy is our resident travel agent and Riviera Maya AI expert, who should have some good insights, and she'll provide something soon. In the meantime, can you tell us what's the most important aspects you're looking for?

My two all time favorite high end places are
Villa rollandi on isla mujeres. And

Both outstanding service.

I didn't even have time to get on here today, I was too busy helping Stewart figure his trip out!

He's all set, Zoetry it is. None of the resorts mentioned, as wonderful and fantastic as some of them are, have the level of service that Zoetry does. I've stayed there, it is the best of the best and from what he said he's looking for, it should be right up his alley.

A few FYI's...

Truth is, this isn't even in the same realm as Zoetry. Not to mention, the beach leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure what could be "personal" about giving information about a resort, other people want to see what you have to say about it and that's why it's a good idea to put the information on the board for all to see. Unless....you're trying to rent your time share, which of course is a no no here.

Beautiful places but not all inclusive. Given their price, and to add food and drink to that, let's just say ouch!

Yep, sorry I haven't been back to update... Shammy steered me in a direction, I did a buttload of research, and looks like Zoetry works out just perfectly. I haven't done a trip report in years, but I'll try to remember to do one for this trip!
