Treadmill Recommendations Please

I'm looking to buy a treadmill to put in the now spare bedroom, soon to be home gym. I would like to spend around $1500. Does anyone have recommendations on good brands, and maybe even specific models? Or brands you would stay away from?

I would suggest looking for a gym quality one on craigslist. Precor is a good brand.

I agree with Heather, Precor is great- but pricey!

I found this:

Best Treadmills | Top Picks and Reviews at ConsumerSearch

The top pick, the 'SoleF80' is right at your price point, too.
We are looking at getting one too, once we move, I think we will look on Kajiji.

No recommendation on brands but +1 to the buy used advice - so many people buy a treadmill, seldom use it and then ditch it. I don't even recall the brand of mine but we got it for $400 when it is around $1000 new.

You might find this site useful.

Send a message via Skype™ to Transit
My suggestion is to first be sure your going to use it. I had great plans when I bought mine and it now sits collection dust after only a few months of use.

I have normally used either Precor or Life Fitness at the gym, so I would love to find one of those in my price range.

It would probably have to be used though.

Transit - I honestly enjoy exercise, even when I'm on vacation so I'm not worried about lack of use.

I used to have a treadmill but am hooked on the elliptical now. Good for you for getting one for your home and knowing that you are going to use it. Exercise is life changing.

I have a LifeSpan...it came with a with a 5 year warranty/parts/service and 10 on the motor.
I have had them come out twice to replace the belt and minor adjustments - I have been very happy with it. It gets heavy use from both me and my daughter.

I am betting you could find a used one for a steal !

I've found that these work much better and do not take up as much space...

I have a recumbent bike that we use on average 3 times a week each, hubby and I- and we almost have it worn out!

Not everyone buys exercise equipment and then only uses it for two months, people!!

tough crowd

We have a Nordictrack ifit that is very good, it has a nice springy platform that is easy on the joints. We have had it 5 years with no problems. We bought it second hand with low miles.
