Hey Everyone!
This stupid Cold/Sinus infection has had me down for the past couple days, looks as though it will have me down today as well. I am supposed to do a Frostbite 8k tomorrow, kind of looking like that one may be off the books for me, am really not in any condition to be running out in 20 degree weather tomorrow. Great job everyone on your mileage, back to bed for this guy... |

Speed work- sprint from one bar to the next one, rest and hydrate , repeat We can even do some cross training- bobbin' in the sea with a beer is cross training, right?Nada for the past 2 days- big stupid storm here. I counted on not running yesterday, but not today I'll do 5 tomorrow to make up for the loss, because I'm off to Boston for Sun and Mon which means no running On the bright side, I increased my upper body weights this week- my arms are delightfully sore![]() Keep up the great work everyone! Feel better TJ! |

One of my former students ran the US Olympic marathon trials today and finished 40th out of about 110 runners. He broke 2:18.
He said he is more geared toward the 2016 Olympics as he is still pretty young. I am pretty sure I had no influence on his running career, but at least I can still say I have run more marathons than him. 5 to 3. |

Only 3 today- wanted to get back in time for football
Plus I took a nice spill and had to do brush clearing after our lovely storm which really slowed me down. YTD 22 miles- next run won't be until Tues.

A friend of mine signed up for a virtual 13.1. She had to use her Nike GPS thingy. I joined her at her mile 4.5 and I stopped around 12.7. That means total distance for me, not including my 1 mile walk to meet her, was 8.2 miles.
We did take walk breaks because she was starting to bonk a bit. We were able to track our walk breaks as there are 1/4 mile markers on the route we were on (the "Rails to Trails"). We had 1.5 miles total of walking breaks. So, long story short, I ran 6.7 miles today! ![]() My weekly goal was 16. I missed that goal by 3.65 miles. Was planning on doing a 4 mile run on Thurs night but we had a very cold rain -- so I to skip it. ![]() YTD = 24.6 |

I had a little less intense of a week this week, and actually skipped two workouts due to work and procrastination on my night workouts by saying I'll just do them in the morning...then not doing them in the morning. ![]() And I've already screwed myself on my NY resolution of no snooze button ![]() ![]() Anywho, I DID get two runs in this week, though: a 4.5 earlier this week as the snow front moved in and a 3.9 today on the tread. So please add 8.4 to my YTD!

Hey guys, check in time... I've been reading the thread all week on my phone, but I didn't log in to reply to anything.
Accountability: 0 miles, YTD 18.6. My knee still has a lingering bit of soreness that I had hoped would go away before I pust some more miles in. I think my recent move and awesome new running trails, combined with my heavier body weight, are what caused the injury. The new routes are much hillier than my old routes, so although I was going slow with my runs, I think the constant up/down twisty trails were too much... I have been going to the gym, and I'm going to get some more cycling going until I can start running again. I bought a knee brace too. I've read that part of this sort of injury might be to underdeveloped quads and other leg muscles. My quads are quite strong, but regardless I am going to try working on the legs to see if it will help. Within the next 2 weeks I have an urban hike planned and some salsa dancing - fun workouts! Good job everyone else! Get those miles in 'cause I can't! |
