Where to go for a good steak and seafood?

On our last visit in 2010 we ate at the Big Lobster and it was ok.
I am not sure if they are still open.....
Is there somewhere else in Playa better for steak and lobster?

Lots of good seafood around. For steak...I'd stick to Illinois.

I agree! I could live without out it for 10 days, but my husband is a steak and potatoes guy and would have withdrawals if he didnt have at least one steak while on vacation!

On my map I am showing 2 El Fogon Restaurants! One is at 30th and Calle 8 the other one is at 30th and Constituyentes. Are they both comparable?

I've only been to the one at 30th & Constituyentes, so no way to compare. I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions though.

Also, there is a CH Monterrays on Sur 1 (not really sure that's the correct name or location, as I followed the group), but they are delicious, as well. And you get a baked potato with the dinner!

hmm...I had a decent steak at an Argentinian restaurant about a year ago. It was on Fifth, maybe around 24th? Can't remember exactly as I was bedazzled by my date and wasn't paying much attention to anything else! Hopefully, someone can chime in with a name and address. I agree with others on the aracherra. Lots of good places for that too.

Have been to the one at 30th/Con and the one on 30th @ 34th.Like the latter as it is more locals and quieter spot.If down that way also check out Don Sirloin for arrechera and the like.Of late El Diez on 5th( @28th) seems to get the vote for good steaks and it is fairly reasonable $$.

Loved eating at El Diez. We used to go there at least once a week. Great cuts of meat and delicious burgers. Boisterous atmosphere and good people watching.
