Again, let me say how happy I'am to see that great list! Hell, you can't even get the DT's here on most lists!

I love beer, I may even marry it......

Prices were good for the Mexican beers...if you wanted to drink Dos XX 20p or 28p for Bohemia. I think the Mexican beers Rick and I drank were around 40p. Great service and they hope to have draft beer in the future.

Deal of the day

Was at Sam's Club this morning and that had 6 packs of Bitburger beer (500 ml), regularly priced at 110 pesos for 50 pesos!!! Don't worry - I left you guys a few 6 packs . At that price I probably should have bought it all!

The Minerva pale ale is really, really good. Other than that, I find myself gravitating towards the Belgian beers. YUM.

I have some photos from last night that I'll post later.

I love Chimay beers

I cannot drink them much, though

This place looks fantastic, and so does the list. Thanks for sharing, I now know where I'll be posting up on a stool for a few. Now, if they have wi-fi, this could make for a nice office.

The red Chimay is really beautiful. It's definitely one that I will order again.

The next time we are there, assuming the place is still open, I'll buy one round

Finally ..............TARROX opened in Playa over 3 years ago. First, on AV. 10 at calle 22 and then they moved to calle 20 between AV. 5 & 10. They had a wide selection of beers from around the world. Their second place (by Reina Rojo) had outdoor seating. They went out of business about 6 months or so ago. R.I.P.

I don't remember it being THAT wide of a selection.
I'm giving Club de la Cerveza a better chance due to location and Miguel's passion for beer.
I'm hopeful.
He really wants to being draft beer in but the shipping of kegs (and the return of empties) may be cost prohibitive.

Last night, Miguel explained why he opened Club de la Cerveza. In the past, Miguel would get as many international or craft beers as he could get his hands on, and he and an ever-expanding group of friends would meet for an evening of beer testing. The called their meetings "Club de la Cerveza." It was a popular event, but more and more, people were getting busy with work and other things and having trouble finding times where everyone could get together. Miguel would run into friends around town who would always ask, "When is the next beer testing?"

Club de la Cerveza, the bar, is that next beer testing. Pretty cool, huh?

Here is Miguel, who joined us for a beer last night. You'll notice that he's drinking Heineken. He drinks that because no one buys it.

Here are some of the beers we tried:

Minerva Stout, a dark, chocolaty Mexican craft beer

Rick loves this one, but it's too dark for me.

Minerva Pale Ale, another Mexican craft beer

This is one of my favorites on the menu. It's low-priced, very crisp, a little fruity and not too hoppy.

Tempus Double Malt, another Mexican craft beer

I thought this one was good. Dark, but not thick-tasting.

Calavera Smoky Scottish Ale, yet another Mexican craft beer

I thought this one was interesting, but some people might be a bit thrown off by the smoky flavor.

Hobgoblin, a darker English beer

This is one of my favorites of the night. Unique and delicious.

I drank some great Belgian beers:

Duvel

La Chouffe

Delirium Tremens

Club de la Cerveza has a small food menu as well, for those that want some savory snacks to go with their beers. We had onion rings.
