Don't tell Bernie
.............. I have got to say the grand opening was a blast. After listening to Brent Parkin and his band at Bad Boys, a group of us walked the beach up to the W Bar at El Faro. They keep the drinks coming and coming and coming. The DJ's music was upbeat and non stop. The music keep the party going and the girls dancing and some even dirty dancing. It was THE party. Thanks "W" and best wishes. That's all that I needed, another bar to hang out in! LOL Last edited by absoluteAL; 01-14-2012 at 09:34 AM.. |

We are staying at El Faro in a few weeks. While I'm looking forward to checking out the new bar, I'm wondering what it means in terms of noise level in the condos, particularly at night (we have young kids). Thanks in advance for any info or best guesses.

as far as noise goes, the municipio is cracking down on zenzi
rick has been walking around with a noise meter and the music is very soft now and this is at 5 PM the allowable level is less than the crowd noise on twelfth street at one AM |

stating a specific allowable decibel level . If so, do you know what that level is?

That's somewhat low because average normal conversation is somewhere around 70 decibels.
I used to use a decibel meter at my big bar when bands played because the local police would be all over me if they thought the music was to loud. The problem that I found with many bands was that some/all members were about half deaf so they would play loud so that they could hear their music .

The last 2 reviews on TA that complained of music stay in January 2012 which means that they were probably there during the BMP music festival. It'll be considerably quieter now that that's over
