As far as reporting on the trip.....
We arrived around 5:30pm to a hungry crowd yelling at us to hurry up and cook dinner.... okay, not quite. We arrived and I was almost in tears hugging Bonny....it has been about three or four years since we saw or touched each other in person. Same with Mike, and Jeff & Julie. Hugs went on all around for a bit, and oohs and ahhhs at how big Kelsey and Jorden were since everyone saw them last.I met Uno and his darling wife Colleen. Colleen and I hit it off right away...we are very similar and she is an absolute doll. So is Uno, of course! I poured some wine and then Kelsey and I set to cooking some whore's pasta....or pasta putanesca, if you prefer. ![]() We were up late laughing and just enjoying each other's company. Jorden settled into playing Wi with Mike and Jeff straight away. Ron showed us our Family Suite, and the kids were in bed early (we had been up since about 5am). I think I was in bed by midnight...maybe. I was having too much fun to take photos, sorry.

Mike was cold. Not sure if he had a warm enough jacket. Ginger took some pictures of the kids on the beach. Colleen offered to take a family shot. There it was... All set up with Ginger and the kids for a nice family photo op. Then out of nowhere... POOF! Mike, the half-streaker appears. ![]() DUDE!? You were freezing 10 minutes ago!? It was kinda like that. Oh so unexpected, and funny. |

I wish I had pictures, but of course out of all the random crap I packed, the camera wasn't part of it.
![]() After attempting football, and kite flying, I came across a giant scratch in the sand left by Jeff. "Happy B-day Julie." That night was Julie's 29th B-day party. It was a great party. |

Saturday I woke up to this wonderful view:
![]() Various peeps arose and caught up on life via various devices: ![]() Kelsey and I made some breaky, eggs and gluten-free pancakes. Everyone loved them! (at least they SAID they loved them..... It was a beautiful day, so we all went for a walk down to the beach. ![]() I almost bundled up when MikeW talked about how cold it was...then I thought I'd better guage for myself. Ha! COLD! It was not. It was almost swimming weather for us Canucks! ![]() Love this pic of everyone together, getting ready to go our various ways and do our various things on the beach: ![]() Uno tried to fly kites. ![]() Kelsey and Jorden wrote messages in the sand: ![]() Bonny, Jeff, Julie, Kathy, Mike and Ron went hunting for fossils after playing some football: ![]() Colleen and I walked the beach looking for fossils also and chatting, then she went to join Uno in the kite flying. Kelsey joined me in walking the shoreline, while Jorden hung out with Uno. ![]() We posed for a family photo and someone decided to photobomb us: ![]() When I was done with my laughing hysterics, I took photos the kids' sand messages. Kelsey's message to a friend: ![]() And Jorden's message to the world: ![]() Then we all got all "caveman" and started breaking rocks apart to look inside for more fossils. ![]() Fun day! We all then returned to the house, had some snacks, then went out by convoy into Newport. We walked the pier area in search of sea lions to no avail. Uno bought tacos from a cart (in Oregon, who knew?), Julie purchased some batteries for what, I'm not sure... ), Jorden bought a baja jacket, and we all examined the interesting scents offered in Oregon incense:![]() Also saw a funny sign: ![]() Have to pause there and get back to work..... Anyone else have photos of this day? I don't know why I didn't take many photos....to busy having fun, I guess. Last edited by Ginger; 02-01-2012 at 02:54 PM.. |

![]() We did however get that rock split. AND found a clam in it. Bonny was all smiles. "What's inside this rock hasn't been exposed for thousands of years." We we all turned into weekend paleontologists. ![]() PLUS we really wanted to just break the thing in half.
