This is not about abortion, it is about preventative medicine and life-saving cancer screenings provided to thousands of women who are uninsured. Organizations like Komen have a primary goal that should take precedence over bowing to any political agenda: to reduce the death toll of breast cancer through early detection and awareness---the very screenings that places like PP provide to low income women.
This was a terrible decision driven by politics, not the fight to end breast cancer. |

So, you have any suggestions on where women with no other options should go for cancer screening? Just skip it, maybe, because God doesn't care about those poor people anyway? I find it absolutely heartbreaking that people can be so callous and care so little about human beings that have less in life. I am thankful every day that I have good health insurance, and aware that it could be gone in an instant.

Sorry if you thought that was a joke. Us liberals don't have a sense of humor, remember?
So, what's the back up plan for saving thousands of lives through early detection and breast cancer screening? I can only hope that those who care so deeply about life have an alternative for low income women if PP is out. Where do you recommend women with no primary health care provider and no insurance go for pap smears, breast exams, mammograms, and other preventative care? |

I'm sure they had good reason. What's your motto:"if they never grow up they can't get cancer" Last edited by spaz!; 01-31-2012 at 07:58 PM.. |
