Beach club prices

I wanted to avoid posting, but searched forums and could not find a thread posting the lounge chair rent fee on each beach club.
The 1st time we went to playa, we got free passes to mamitas that was back in 2006 I think. next year we went to Kool (still my favorite), Think we paid 45 pesos for each lounger at kool in 2008, next year 2009 and 2011 then we used the Tukan beach club wich is included in the room rate. This year we get mamitas half off vouchers, but I donīt really like mamitas that much, preffer Kool or canibal royal. Can somebody list the fees for 2012? for Kool, wickyīs, canibal royal, zenzi etc. We would like to Lounge in a diferent beach club each day we are there. Thanks so much!!! Love the Playa.info GANG!

I'd love to know the answer to this as well.

We typically stay at an all inclusive with our kids, but we're going with adult friends this summer. (YAY!!) We're thinking about just getting a hotel or condo in Playa, but have heard that we wouldn't enjoy the public beaches.

How does it work for the beach clubs?

Beach clubs can be pricey.. and it is very important to keep track of what you order (just like anywhere else... )
However, the public beaches are totally great.. in fact, the further north you go (even further north than Mamitas) the better it gets.
and its way cheaper to build a sand couch and bring a cooler than pay inflated beach club prices...
Love the sexy beds on the beach though... for us a beach club is a once/ week thing.. and we love to hit the beach daily... JMHO

GOT info on beach clubs..kool 45 pesos bor regular plastic loungers about the same at mamitas
Since we are a group of 8! we will do beach clubs once or twice while we are there, we plan on shipping a beach umbrella from home (we live in Mexico) to our hotel, so by the time we get to playa itīs already there. Itīs cheaper to ship the umbrella than to bring it on the plane with us.
Another thing, can WE buy or where can we buy BEach umbrellas in playa, we went to comercial mexicana and walmart the last time we were there NO LUCK.

Kool 70 pesos for a wooden lounger with umbrella.
Cannibal royal loungers have a food and bev minimum...sometimes 150, 200 pesos, depends when you go.

Being from California, I always go the beach club route. So much more comfortable then the sand. And so different than where I am from, where you have to lug a chair and umbrella to the beach!
Not to mention the service. Ahhhhhhhh

If your going in the summer with another couple I'd recommend getting a condo right on the beach. Check out El Faro condos on VRBO. You get your own reserved beach chairs and can take down your own drinks, or get service from Wickys.

Why were you told you wouldn't enjoy "the public beaches"?
There are tons of restaurants that rent out loungers in playa. Two bigger beach clubs are kool and mamitas. How it works is you go where you like, you either pay for a lounge or get a lounge and pay for food and drink...that actually tastes good!

Good question. I don't really know why he said I wouldn't enjoy the public beaches. Maybe too crowded?

I am with you Slynky, I found that to be an odd comment. Considering even with a towel and your own cooler the beaches and water are fantastic, a beach club depending on the style you like from Cool, Mamitas, Wicky's, Zenzi's, Fusion to more North around Las Palapas there is every type music, no music or non relaxing option available, great food, Happy Hours or just people watching as people stroll, run, pull in boats, pelicans, planes, scuba's, jet ski'rs or snorkelers coming and going, Cozumel in the distance and a bit of beach shopping what could be better than the beach atmosphere in Playa??? Oh yeah and fifth ave 2 minutes away.

I think you may find Playa's Beaches have a bit of something for everyone, you just have to find your spot. I personally love just taking a towel and hanging out quietly and once a week, sometimes twice I go and find a bed and hang out on it for a bit of people watching, a nice bite and couple of beers in an ice bucket.

Hmmmmmmm
Just my two cents and I certainly did my fair share of AI's when my kids were younger but
The beaches in playa are way less crowded than the strip of beach at an AI where you have to play the towel game.
With the exception of major holidays the only busier day at the beach is sundays because the locals get to enjoy the beach on their day off with their families. I like Sunday's.

I'm thinking we'll go with the less expensive condo that is a block off the beach, save a couple hundred dollars, and play around with different clubs & locations.

Now, I wish the trip wasn't still 4 months away!
