My husband just went through this. My doctor had recommended years ago to use warmed (in hot tap water)olive oil. Put 1 or 2 drops in your ear to soften the wax over a period of a couple of days. This may plug is more, initially. We then bought 5ml syringes from WalMart, remove the needle and filled with warm bottled water and flushed the ear out. It worked but took a few days to get it done. Good luck.

Why not make an appointment with your primary care physician, and have his nurse clean out your ears? Or if you have PPO, get appointment with an ENT and have him "suck" out the obstruction with specialized equipment? That way you will most likely not rupture your eardrum, but if the worst case happens, you would have restitution (sp?). If your have insurance this would be covered, whereas, you have to pay out of pocket for candeling (and its consequences). Just my opinion.
Ops, just noticed, you are in PDC now. I am wondering if there is a physician available where you are staying, or if there is an urgent care center of some kind. Perhaps one of the locals can be of better assisatnce in this regards. Would like to know for our own benefit, since Uncle B gets this (and everyting else)from time-to-time (especially when traveling). Last edited by Auntjan; 02-08-2012 at 10:35 PM.. |
