OK, guys that's it! I will check my financial situation in about two weeks (have some additional money coming up and not sure yet if it is enough...) and then I will check airfares. I have wanted to come to the West Coast peep meet for so long and the first weekend of August should be OK this year. I could try to be on dates and times close to Sol's.
Would LOVE to come over as Oregon has been on my to-do list for many years... and I work so much these days that I can get a few additional days off (but have to check the work schedule when I am back in the office next week)... Not promising anything yet but I think it looks good this year.

I am hoping that Lufthansa might come up with deals for the summer in May. I checked other airlines as well but still the cheapest flight to Seattle was 1100 Euro. Some Lufthansa options were to San Francisco and then back to Portland. That would make an 'forever'-flight. If I find a flight below 1000 Euro I am in (still have to check the work schedule but I think it should work).

I so wish this was a different weekend. This sounds like so much fun. I would love to fly out, and I love most of the Willamette wines I've tried to date.
But the big ugly project at work goes into production the week before. I am not allowed to take time off during all of August. ![]()

I just went and toured and booked the Party Bus.
MWAHAHAHAHA! ![]() ![]() ![]() We are SO Gunna Party! Spacious interior, high ceiling. Up to 22 people but 12 to 18 is more comfortable. Sitting, standing or dancing room. Hand rails for standing while driving. Decked out with built in cooler, ice bucket, wine fridge, and glasses. BYOB and food welcome. Water and ice included. There's even a sripper pole for Roni. (There is however a very strict no male nudity policy that I personally requested be put in the contract.)The tentative plan... A 4 hour trip. Sean will pick us up at the big house at 11:30AM. He will set up reservations for the day. A 45 minute drive to King Estates for the first tasting. Music going and pre-tasting, tasting on the way of course. Then onto Sweet Cheeks for tasting and tapas. Silvan Ridge (formally Hinman Vineyards) is right across the street so we thought that would be a good #3 time permitting. Then a 30-40 minute drive back to the house with some more tasting and pole dancing on the way. If on the chance one of the vineyards is having a wedding or something during our times, we will get creative and shuffle. Sean, the owner/operator also does a lot of private Oregon Duck sports charters. I mentioned he needs a big stack of Oregon stickers to hand out to his patrons. He agreed. I'm going to fix him up with Duck stickers, and he's going to give us the V.I.P. treatment. (He runs a sign shop during the day so we hit it off from the start.) Everybody be sure and wear your best party party panties! WOOHOO! I can picture us in this thing already. Here it is: My Party Bus My Party Bus - Transportation - Eugene, OR | Facebook |
