Correct. Feels like Georgia- with an ocean! So I'd much rather be there than here. Stay on the beach as much as possible during the day. It's beyond steamy on the street. Nights are good. Last edited by CharlieBoy; 02-18-2012 at 12:41 PM.. |

Being on the beach wasn't so much the problem (although it was so hot, I pretty much stayed in the water). It was the other day/night activities that did me in.....shopping, eating, and sightseeing. Most restaurants don't have A/C, therefore, I felt as if I was eating in an oven.
Night time on the beach was perfect!

Last July was tough eating dinner. As mentioned, restaurants don't have A/C, you eat open air and it was pretty darn uncomfy. I would look forward to getting back to the condo and the A/C.
I mean it is what it is, if I was eating outside in August in NJ, it would be steamy as well. But I typically don't do that when I'm home. However, I wouldn't let the heat stop me from going in the summer again. If you're at an all inclusive resort, many of their restaurants will have A/C.

Agreed! Hate to admit, but there were a couple of nights I said "uncle" early...just for the comfort of the A/C at the condo. My ultimate goal is to visit during January/Feb one year! Last edited by Peach; 02-18-2012 at 02:10 PM.. Reason: Adding |

August is hot. I've always lived without A/C and this is the time of the year when if you have a significant other, you draw a line down the middle of the bed and threaten, under pain of death, that the SO is not to cross that line for any reason. Three showers, fans blowing directly on you, walking only on the shady side of the street, and carrying around a washcloth or hand towel to wipe off your sweat is recommended.
