Good evening all!
I thought this might be interesting for you... Just got back from our 3rd stay at Sandos Playacar. The first 2 stays we booked at the travel agency but last year we met a Royal Elite member who own's over 25 weeks a year of timeshare at Sandos. After talking a while he offered us the chance of renting is unit anytime or any amount of weeks we would like at this at a really low price. We had the choice of Ocean front suite, Hacienda or Jr. Suite. this at any Sandos resorts. At the beginning we were really sceptic about this, we thought about it for a few months, you know renting an Ocean View Suite at $30 a day is very attracting. We were not to familiar about timesharing also. We finally contact him last October and decided to book an Ocean Suite from him and pay the AI at the resort on our arrival. You know what? This is one of the best decision we have done regarding travelling. We have travelled many places in the Caribbeen and we paid a lot of $$ everytime. Now we could get the Royal benefits at a fraction of the price we could get via a travel agent. At that price I'm attracted to go twice a year. Sandos Playacar is a very nice resort and I think this will be our Home away from Home for a while. The FUNIEST thing is we met a couple last year at the resort and they were back this year and guest what?? They were renting through the same Royal member we did, we had a good LAUGH!! So this is just to let you guys now that renting through a Royal Elite member owner is really worth it. You don't have to assist at any timeshare presentation and the best of it you don't have to BUY any upfront $$$ package like they are trying to sell you. This was my tip of the day! Have a good week end! |

Hello, our AI fees was $110 per day per person, we paid $30 per day for the room rental.
we rent the room direct to the owner and paid the AI to the hotel. No broker... if you need more info they have a page on facebook/sandostimesharerental |

Oh no, $30 was what we paid to rent the room. AI rates are from $70-$110 depending of the season.
It's much cheaper than buying from a travel agent, we're going back in August at Caracol thought, for 10 days it's 40% less if we rent to a member. |

Hello, our suite was nice, the decoration was nice too. I think they were renovated not too long ago.
If you send an email to the owner he will send you all the pictures. Yes it was a king bed. These suites are limited only a few, must book in advance. We booked our summer trip with the same member, we saved again. Last edited by Travelmania; 09-13-2012 at 06:55 PM.. |

My husband and I went for an overnight here. The rooms are very nice, however the dining experience was not in the least enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was so noisy we couldn't carry on a conversation. My suggestion is to order from room service and avoid the stampede. We ate at the Brazilian and the Italian where we found both lacking. We couldn't wait to return to the condo we rent in the little Italy area of Playa del carmen. Sandos is too stressful for me!
