Solo man (39) from WI....heading to PdC 2/25!!
would like to learn of fun activities fit for those of us without a significant other in tow....first time to PdC. Looking forward to it!! Would also appreciate hotel suggestions...still haven't booked one! (decided against all-inclusive, though).

have a look at this thread there are some suggestions about where to stay
http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...more-time.html also have a try at the search feature and play around with your search terms and you will probably find more ideas. have fun! ![]() activities... depends on what you are interested in. I really enjoyed Tulum and Xcaret (probably better with someone) when we there three years ago. Drinking is a lot of fun as well! have a look also at the Peeps section http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...um/peep-stuff/ and maybe post a message there. You may also find some people looking to do tours or other activities. Last edited by cormacsg; 02-18-2012 at 02:38 PM.. |

I'd like to recommend Hotel La Tortuga. We're headed back for the third time in a couple months. Great property. Great location. Great restaurant. A full breakfast is included each day with your stay. We've found that's a great way to start, then you've got the rest of the day and countless choices on where to eat.

Thanks for the replies....La Tortuga does look nice, although was a little more expensive than some of the others I was reviewing (e.g. Posada Mariposa). I will definitely consider it, though!! Need to get my act together here.
I'd love to golf as well if anyone needs an extra to fill out their foursome! |

Well if you consider LT any further, and want to economize I'd guess that their standard rooms would be great. We try to spoil ourselves and get the swim-ups. I know they offer a larger discount for stays of 5 nights or longer. Good luck with your choices.

Jake...where in WI are you? Just wondering. I'm sure you'll have a great time. We'll be looking forward to the trip report. Abstaining from drinking..in Wisconsin..in Winter? You must have a very strong resolve

Well sorry our paths won't cross this time! Mke resident here but spent many years in Mad-town. 68-74, Liz Waters, east side, Mifflin/Basset, West Wash...you name it, I've lived there!
Have you decided on a place to stay? Be sure and get to Luna Blue, Wa Wa, and Bad Boyz for a great place to meet people! |

Jake and Equinenut, it's good to see Wisconsin so well represented here. Equine, we'll be headed up to Playa from Tulum the day after you arrive according to your trip counter. Maybe we'll have a chance to say hello. There's a peeps list in that category. Lots of overlapping visits. Regarding Wisconsin, there was a place I noticed last visit that was in effect a "Packer Bar". We never got back around to it. I'd be interested to know it it's still there. Forgot which side street it was on off of 5A.

I just got back from Cozumel, and while there I took the ferry to playa and booked a room at Playa Palms Condo's ,right on the beach( after much research) it is not all inclusive, but there is a kitchenette in the room...it is on the beach and 2 blocks to 5th ave. Looking forward to next trip in May...

Hi Jake
You should consider going on one of the Yucatrecks tours, they are great and maybe you can ask Mitch to give you a day when not only couples are going. The groups are small and it would not be fun if its only couples and you =) but I´m sure Mitch can recomend a day when singles are travelling Have fun, I have only done the Chichen Itza one myself but all our guests love them here is a link to book Playa del Carmen - Anna James Chichen Itza Valladolid Claudiadeplaya
