Well...YWG Don & Deb and their Ribs 'n' Suds event at Manne's (and Susie)...no need for a lengthy commentary here as we
all know the premise of the event...Peeps...Ribs...Tequila...here is the story in pictures...                          What a great party as it is every year...here's a group shot...  Off to Puerto Morelas for a day trip...some beach napping...some snorkeling...some beach food...will post more later...sonofdob

Road Trip…off to Puerto Morelos…as Rob McKay put it “a vacation from your vacation”…we all met up at Calle 2 and Avenida 15 at the Collectivo spot…Rob McKay, wolfpf, the Faruba’s, T nT, mouse and me…
  Wandered up a block to the Playa Express depot and grabbed a van on it’s way to Cancun that would drop us at Puerto Morelos…nice clean air conditioned ride at 20 pesos per person…   Once at Puerto Morelos we were going to grab a local bus from the highway into town for 5 pesos each but a couple of cabs sitting there offered us a ride at the same rate…sweet…dropped us off at the Zocalo and we went and checked out the church and wandered around a few streets and walked out on the pier ended up at a beach club that Rob knew…” Cockteleria Chayito”…and worked out a deal for 8 chairs and 3 umbrellas for 200 pesos…25 pesos beers until 2 pm when they went 2 for 1 until 4 pm…great service as well…                   This is a great stretch of beach and the entire length the reef is off shore only about a mile or so…you can catch a boat out to the reef for snorkeling at 250 pesos per person but there is a lot of decent well marked snorkeling right from the beach including an underwater cenote in about 20 feet of water that gushes out clear cold fresh water…              The food here is very good…we all had a very nice lunch of fried grouper with all the fixings for 80 pesos per person…      Headed out about 4 pm or so…wandered back through town…came across this interesting place for sale…  Caught a local bus for 5 pesos back to the highway and within minutes caught a Playa Express collectivo back to Playa for 20 pesos each…     a really good day as advertised but our very kind host…Rob McKay…thanks Rob... ...sonofdob |
