thank you to everyone who responded....

the request was actually for my husband as i rarely even do burgers at home.. just not my thing...

that being said, being a brooklyn girl, i am very snooty about my taste in pizzas but i must admit, i cant wait to hit romeo's...

so other than the fact that wickys isnt the best burger anymore the only other location i read was el diez...oops equine just saw you mentioned playa maya... will check that out

any others?? rick, if not wickys... can you offer an alternative...

fwiw, we were told last time that we had to try burgers at tequila barrell.. EPIC FAIL...

and as for fusion, as i have mentioned before, i feel the service was awful and our stay there was the worst we have ever experienced in playa... none of my pesos to fusion ever again...

That was my Babaloo imitation...sorry, couldn't resist.

I was sure happy to see a Starbucks last week at CUN....after ten days of horrible watery coffee, that was heaven.

The best meals we had last week was surf and turf and escargots at the French a la carte and caprese salad, spaghetti carbonara and tiramisu at the Italian.

Even the pizza at Wah Wah was pretty good.

Variety is the spice of life! No matter what country you are in. JMO of course.
well done

I haven't had the opportunity to try them yet, but I hear Wah Wahs may have good burgers.

Sometimes the guy at the Weber Grill store cooks burgers. They are pretty good. He's on the same road as The Holiday Inn Express and the 30th Ave (sticker only) gate to Playacar.
Does that road have a name? 11th?

best burger

El Diez had a really good burger a couple of years ago (when I got a lot of free ones for re-doing their busy menu), but over the last year-and-a-half or so they've switched to a higher grade of meat (!) and to what seems like a finer grind (!) so that the overall result seems to be a drier, "tighter" patty on the burger - I don't like a greasy burger, but a little bit of fat in the mix seems to go a long way towards making the thing more satisfyingly "juicy" as opposed to just "chewy". I do wish they'd go back to the "old-fashioned" ones (it's been mentioned). The fries are still pretty good (and Heinz ketchup)- no changes there. Bon appetite!

I haven't eaten that many burgers in Playa but the best one I've had was at the Hotel Mimi del Mar. Great flavor, not greasy and the sauce they give you with it is awesome! (it comes on the side, not on the burger).

It isn't the same great burger.
I had one first day here last week for lunch waiting for condo and was disappointed..staying at el Faro and haven't eat there again. Prices up and quality down must have been their changes from last year

I havn't had a burger at playa maya yet. You think it is worth a try?

Playa Maya is my goto place for lunch on the beach. I really enjoy the food. Plus they still carry Superior.

Fusion does annoy me with service.

Last wickys burger i had looked great but the taste was not so good.

Best burgers and economic with QUALITY at Gynn'AK Restaurant in Akumal, on the road to Yal-Ku lagoon, across the street from Villas Flamingo. 100% BEEF Angus burger w/ fries the way they are supposed to be done, $110 pesos!

Best Burgers

We just returned from having the best burger, for those who need the burger fix! Buddies on Fifth, between 26 and 28. West side, very small but delicious. Cervesa only 25 pesos, burger and fries were about 100 pesos. I think excellent value, wonderful service, highly recommended.
