In PDC right now and want to visit x- pu ha beach tomorrow. Was there about 4 years ago but can't remember where to turn. I remember a beach club as the only access. can someone help?

We were just there. Drive south on 307 past Catalonia Tulum. You will go past some cenotes (Cenote Azul is one) on your right. Take the next retourno and head back towards Playa, maybe a half mile. Look for a sign that says La Playa Beach Club and hang a right down a bumpy road.
Babaloo put me on to this place and it is my new favorite beach place to hang out. Enjoy.

Could be the bestist beach in the area .. I will definetly be there for a
day in April. Stayed at the closed resort on the southern end of the beach years ago. Walked to the beach club a couple times and have returned on other trips. Hope that stretch of heaven is never developed. |

Yes there is a beach club with chairs, tables, food and bevies. In fact we had 4 lounge chairs for free if we were ordering food or drink. Some of the loungers had charges but our server was great and pointed out the free ones right in front of the tables so we had a place to eat lunch. There is also an area with hammocks to chill out. Also snorkel rentals, etc as there is a reef not far out. Just a great place to spend a day.

if memory serves, it is about 3 blocks off the 307. you could catch a collectivo and walk in, although that may limit how much gear you haul along and perhaps the time frame involved to get there. it is an awesome beach no doubt, check it out on google earth so you kinda get the lay of the land. ricardo

No need to haul gear other that your swim stuff, snorkel gear if you have it and some pesos. It is a great place.
You can take a colectivo as we have done except you will have to sprint across 4 lanes of 307 on the way down since it will stop on the west side of the hiway. The drivers do know where it is. A little scary but not much worse than missing the road northbound and going backward on 307 for about a mile!! |
