We have an USB adaptor that links the landline, our regular phone set (a base and three handsets) and the computer. So basically when you get a call from outside or Skype, or SkypeIn, your regular phone rings and you can answer it. At the same time you can use your regular phone handset to call through your landline, SkypeOut (a regular phone number using Skype) or Skype any of your contacts.
The had a yearly unlimited plan to call regular # and cell phones for $14.99 a year that now is $30, so is very cheap.
Sound is good, but sometimes you get echo and sometimes connection is not 100% reliable (you have to try a couple of times).
Basically, we are canceling our landline (about $30 per month) and will have only Skype ($45 per year) and our cell phones.
