So where's the Party thread?

Nevermind. I found it.

Hung out in Dave's garage tonight. Threw some darts, ate some pork rinds, drank some beer. We reminissed on last fall's hunting season, while anticipating this spring's fishing season.

We've been repeating this exact same thing year after year for over 20 years. We retell the same stories about the same adventures over and over and get excited like it's the first time we've ever heard them before.

Even though we were both together for 99% of the actual events, the fish weigh more and the antlers get bigger.

Oh and the one that got away? Now that was truly a monster of epic proportions.

Yup, Uno, you and Don really would get along like a house on fire. Get a motorcycle and you would truly be friends for life.

Yay, weekend!!

gonna do some drinking of vino tonight with a bunch of wimmens. Tomorrow is hair day (woot woot!) and dinner and a movie. Nothing too taxing.

We have been busy cleaning out my MIL's house... well Steve has done most of the work.

Tomorrow night we are going to a St. Patty's Day Pub Crawl in a little historic town near where I live called Ellicott City, then out to dinner to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday!

Tomorrow my youngest daughter and I are going to the home brew store. For the last few years, she has asked if I would brew and bottle a special batch of beer for her 21st B-day. I'm taking her to pick out a style and flavor. I'm guessing it will be a fruity light tasting, light alcohol something. Apricotweizen? We'll see. It should be ready by mid April just in time for her 21st.

On your kid's 21st birhday
Stuffy Dad: Birthday cake
Cool Dad: Serve a glass of wine with the birthday cake
Not Cool (or lazy) dad: Take 21 year old to a bar, have peanuts with shooters
Awesome dad: Special private home brew to be served on 21 year old birthday.

Thanks.

She's been asking for years. "Dad? Will you make me beer for my 21st b-day?" "Sure" A couple weeks ago I mentioned we needed to think about if it is going to be ready. When I got home from today she asked "Can we go to the beer store this weekend?" "Sure."

HA! I have a better one. We have granddaughter #1 this weekend. She said she was bored. I said "You want to go fishing?" "YES POPOP!" So I took some plastic fish out of the toy box and glued a little piece of metal to the heads. Then took a little fishing pole and put a magnet on the end. We filled the bath tub and threw in the fish. She is "fishing" as we speak in the bathroom. Sitting on the toilet (her boat) trying like hell to catch some fish. I caught one, but it got away.

Ya gotta teach em to love it when they're young. She HAS caught fish for real on the river when Roni and Kathy came down. In fact, we ate them for lunch that day. She's having way more fun with the plastic ones than the real ones. (Real ones are slimy.)

That sounds good. I never liked fruity beers till I tried them in Belgium. They are actually pretty good.

We had a failed attempted at Micheladas/chelada style beers at home with my dad and brother. Spicy V8, fresh lime, dash of Worcestershire, pour beer on top. It was kinda gross. The are so good in Mexico. And the Bud Lite Cheladas in a can are good, too (sue me, I like em).

Can't use V8. Even the spicy (which I love) it doesn't work. Next time, go with "Clamato" or Mrs T's bloody Mary mix. I like the bud cheladas. Perfect combo. (They use clamato in those too.) No worcestershire in a chelada. It's too strong tasting.

Good call. I use Clamato in my bloody mary's and it would be better.

I really love V8 straight up but I have never been able to get a good mix in a chelada or bloody mary using it. Too many other flavors going on maybe? I've even tried V8 with clam juice added. Just doesn't taste the same. I HAVE however had some luck with regular tomato juice and clam juice to make a decent clamato mix.

You ever have on pajamas with a button on the front slit and you're sitting around the house and the button ain't buttoned and the little head kinda pokes out and tries to look around the room.
