I guess I'd need to know more also, but if she was being abused and she only put a shot into the ceiling for the life of me I can't understand 20 years. Shitty attorney?

Court records: Zimmerman had 2 black eyes, nose fracture after Trayvon Martin's fatal shooting

Court records show George Zimmerman had a pair of black eyes, a nose fracture and two cuts to the back of his head after the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
ABC News reports (George Zimmerman Medical Report Sheds Light on Injuries After Trayvon Martin Shooting - ABC News ) the medical records were part of evidence released Tuesday that prosecutors have in the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman. He has entered a plea of not guilty and claims self-defense in the Feb. 26 shooting

If I'm on the jury and hear these injuries ... its self-defense IMO......

I'm curious - if this medical report from Zimmerman's doctor is part of the "court record," why is it that only ABC News has it? Usually, documents that have been submitted and filed with the court and become part of the "court record" in any given case are available to the public (unless such documents have been specifically ordered by the court to be held "under seal"). So if this medical report is, in fact, part of the publicaly-available "court record," no single news agency will have "exclusive" access - (From the original ABC article):

Quote:
A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.
Now before anyone jumps all over my s**t, I am ONLY questioning ABC News' claims that they have "exclusive" access to this report - that makes no sense to me.

Also of interest is this:

Quote:
But the report also shows Zimmerman declined hospitalization the night of the shooting, and then declined the advice of his doctor to make a follow-up appointment with an ear nose and throat doctor.

In addition to his physical injuries, Zimmerman complained of stress and "occasional nausea when thinking about the violence." But he was not diagnosed with a concussion. The doctor noted that it was "imperative" that Zimmerman "be seen with [sic] his psychologist for evaluation."

According to the report, prior to the shooting Zimmerman had been prescribed Adderall and Temazepam, medications that can cause side effects such as agitation and mood swings, but in fewer than 10 percent of patients.

Obviously any answer would only be speculation. Seems hard to imagine that another network would offer fabricated/falsified info after NBC got their ass handed to them but who knows?
As it was reported that the discovery process has begun and evidence released to the defense it could be something from there, but it would seem risky at best if the judges seal order (requested by the defense) was still in place. As I said-speculation. If accurate, it does at least suggest a struggle took place (as does the report of bruising/bleeding on Martin's hands) rather than an execution as some were trying to suggest. Obviously determining the sequence is going to be critical.

It will certainly be useful evidence for the defense.

Unless another witness steps forward or there is some new evidence on either side, this is going to be a case built on hypothetical narratives (especially regarding how the confrontation began). Each side will claim that their client was standing his ground, imo. Each will claim that the other was the initial aggressor.

1. Press "Ctrl" & "Prt Sc" at the same time.
2. Open your word processor or any progam that'll let you paste images.
3. Press "Ctrl" & "V" at the same time to paste the image.
4. Save it.
