What to tip on fishing charter

Going on a fishing charter. What is the customary tip to give when leaving?

I am not aware of any Mexican custom, perhaps someone else will weigh in on that ... but I have gone on charters/party boats from a number of venues including PDC and I have a personal policy ... if your charter has a captain/guide but no mate, you do not tip at all since selecting him vs others in the biz is consideration enough ... if the charter has a mate who is OK duke him $5 or pesos $50 ... if the mate is above average duke him $10 or pesos $100 ... generally speaking if you are thinking of the $10 spot, you have been catching fish or he was a skilled snorkle partner or mixed a great margarita or whatever ... the other thing you may wish to do for the captain and/or the mate is let them keep all or most of your fish depending on what sort of accomodations you are in ... if you are giving them a nice stringer of fish then the $5 tip is fair enough
