There is nothing more important the homeowner can do than to use a good quality filter and change it properly..

I am hoping the hubby knows about this and does it!?!

Our A/C unit is outside, just a small one- do they all have filters? It runs sporadically about from June-September, and daily July-August....

I think we probably have a different kind of set up, a furnace plus the outside AC unit. We don't have filters on the AC unit outside, just our furnace and those we change every month. We usually have our AC checked every year just like we do with our furnace.

whew

Yes, I am pretty sure there is no filter.

All we have ever done with it in 8 years is cover it with a tarp in October and take the tarp off in about May.

The filter would be on the air handler inside your house.

Our heater runs sporadically from maybe Dec to Feb, and just maybe then.

Ha....ha....ha

Okay! I asked around. Most people here have the same type of a/c unit, and not one of them ever changes their filters, or knew there was filters that need changing...different types of units, methinks.

Our, it is like the notion that you need to regularly clean your furnace ducts. Ha!

ETA: no filter. We have one central heating and cooling system, with one filter we change every 2 months. End of.

I would doubt ours is green and have no idea what kind it is. Obsolete is my understanding from the tech. Parts hard to find. A shame because it has been a kiss arse unit to this point. Hope they can find the leak.
