I went to the Chedraui in PA once and I thought it sucked.

I LOVE the one in Plaza las Americas. They have lots of good imported stuff.

Funny thing, though. The bathrooms at the one in Plaza las Americas SUCK. No toilet seats, and you have to grab the tp from a big dispenser before you enter your stall. Come on guys....get with the times like every other big store!!

opps, sorry forgot the one at Las Americas! That must be the one I heard was awesome. We were waiting for a rainy day to go to Las Americas. Never happened in 6 weeks!

Think I will try that one when there in Feb-March 2013.

Mega gets another vote and thanks to the forum we went to La Europea for liq with was great and had everything we wanted.

Keep your sanity and go to Mega, it is more organised, cleaner, more relaxing, a better experience. If you plan on going to Walmart go early in the morning... there seem to be less people around but it will always be messy, sticky, unorganized and a drain on your well being. IMO.

Mega was the first large store we came across when we ventured out of the AI world, and we have never gone to Wal-Mart, it generally annoys me at home so I expect the same in Mexico!

On another topic, hubby likes the grocery cart escalator, so another reason for MEGA

mega is the place to go we love it even when we are all inclusive we have to have a mega experience. only went to wal-mart once and it was awful queues loud music and too many people we just left our shopping and ran

I love Mega. Their prices are cheaper on a lot of stuff than Walmart. It also is much more calm for sure.

however, it is really cavernous, it took me 20 min to find my friend in there as she wandered off and i was ready to check out

i still lean towards mega, but that walmart is pleasant and actually has a lot of positives

In April we went there with friends that live down there and it was really nice. Also, on certain days there are kids( maybe about 14 yrs old) that are working to help you load up for a tip. Nice kids!
