Weight Loss
Okay.. every year in January I start tryng to lose weight so I will feel comfortable when we go on vacation.
I'm in my mid 40's so I know i'll never have one of those super bodies of some of you healthier mid 40's and younger women , but I always figure if I can lose even 5 - 10 pounds for what has been my 5'8" small/medium build frame I would just feel better in my shorts and swim suit.. So I've been 5'8" and about 150-155 pounds for the past 10 years... always struggle to get down to at least 145 before vacation and always have a terrible time trying to get there! (I used to be about 125# prior to hitting my mid 30's darn it!) So the hubs and i have tried everything from year to year. Atkins, weight watchers, slim fast all combined with moderate exercise and each of us struggle to lose usually an average of about 7 #'s over 6 months. This year, a couple people in my office have been doing a program that is on the computer and your smart phone called www.myfitnesspal.com I have to tell you, the weight is coming off effortlessly! Even my husband has lost weight! I have lost 17 pounds since the middle of January and my husband started two weeks after I did and has lost 22 pounds!! It is the easiest program I have ever used and I can eat whatever I want, it just teaches you to eat in moderation and teaches you how many calories are in foods. I mean I knew french fries from mcdonalds weren't good for you but didn't realize how many calories were even in a small fry! Crazy!!! The way it works is you log on, and input your info like female, height, weight, age and what you want to weigh... it tells you how many calories a day you can consume and still lose weight. The you put your foods that you eat in daily and it calculates it and keeps up with it for you! You can also add in daily exercise.. anything from walking, to yardwork and even housework counts, and it will re calculate your calories say if you want to have that small fry that day! It has many calories of restaraunts already figured up and you can even put your recipie in and it will figure it for you! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! It has honestly been the easiest diet I have ever done in my whole life and I just wanted to share for those of you who like me try to lose weight for vacation!! Or any other time! By the weigh (way) hehe... if you do log on you can list friends and encourage eachother and ask questions about foods etc... I love it and have about 5 people I do it with. Yep, I've been doing this a little while now. It does work to make you aware of those calories. But you still have to have the will power and dispilinel. I like it. Sometimes I put in things I'm going to eat before I eat them to see what the count is. Makes a difference if you eat it or just eat 1/2 a serving!

Hoolia told me about this app before our last trip to Playa. It was great!!! It was so hard to keep under my goal, but it really helps you realize how much you are eating and what your body actually needs. Awesome app!!

Thank you! This is a cool program! I just joined. I can't really do "set" diet programs, as I'm a vegetarian and find strict diets with menus too restricting to follow. This is perfect, since I track what I eat anyway and I exercise quite a bit.

Yea, I found that app a few weeks ago but forgot to check it out, I just put in what I ate today...it is great it even gives you info on fast food...that is what gets me I can't believe how many calories are in some of the things I eat..crazy....I looked up Taco Bueno's mexi dip and chips..965 calories...geez
