Wristband Coverup

Hello all, we are going to Sandos Playacar in a month and are planning a few day trips into Playa, in our previous visits we have always been approached with the line "Hey I'm _ _ _ _ and I served you ", etc. What do you do to cover up the bands other than a long sleeve shirt?
Thanks

We've stayed at the Royal a couple of times and were in town every night. We've never had an issue.

Try a bracelet? Watch?

I hate wearing an AI bracelet when I'm in town. Boo! What I do is ask them to make it big enough that I can slip it over my wrist and take it off. I tell them that I don't like to wear it at night or when I shower - and I don't (because I have scratched myself), and I've never had an issue with that. I bring clear medical tape and tape it to make it smaller when I'm at the resort, so it doesn't fall off. Then the minute I stop out the door, I take it off, put it in my purse and then put it back on when I get back to the hotel.

On our recent trip I got the "hey remember me from the restaurant at _____ insert resort name here -----" 5 times in about three blocks. The funny part was only two of them got the resort name right...

I did fall for that once a few years ago. Now I just laugh and say "sorry I don't remember you" and keep on walking!

Kids, not adults. Well, not at one resort I went to where my friend asked if they could do that and they said "no". I've never seen an adult with an AI bracelet on their ankle anywhere I've ever stayed, or in town. I have seen some very young kids with bracelets on their ankles. Since most people wear sandals or flip flops, you really wouldn't be covering it up anyway, right?

Some bracelets are more noticeable than others - the Royal's are either clear or a dull gold colour depending on whether you're a club member. Both of them can be fairly hard to spot, which might explain why you've never had an issue.

The first year we stayed at the Royal, the bracelets were a bright purple; we got the "Hi, I served you guys....remember me?" line a couple of times that year, but never since.

I'm totally with Shammy. I've learned from experience that you just have them make it loose enough that you can slip it off. As soon as I'm in the room, it comes off. Very easy solution. Just don't lose it. Besides the vendors will say anything to get your attention. If it's not the bracelet, it'll be something else. It's just what happens when you go into Playa.

I found the worst aspect of the wristband is that you tend to scratch the @&$&& out of your children while holding them. And Tmel might I say your avatar is stunning. I was going to say smoking but I got an elbow to the ribs from whats her name.

We'll get wrist bands at Xaman-Ha. I couldn't care less. We're very used to tuning out the come-ons in town or just wave them off with a "No, gracias!" I mean really... is it that big a deal??!

(Other than the scratching your kids with them, of course. That's lousy!)

Good point! Back in February, I was walking down 5th wearing a Vancouver Canucks shirt (Go Canucks!) - a jewellery vendor started asking where I was from and proceeded to list the name of every British Columbia town he'd ever heard of (which was quite a few, surprisingly...)

Do they really make you wear a wristband at a condo?

I find that odd. El Faro Luna Encantada Playa Palms El Taj don't have wristband and they have more foot traffic then Xaman Ha.

I was going to rent a condo for my Nov trip with my siblings at Xaman Ha
for an escape pod just in case but....Looks like a nice complex

Xaman-Ha is awesome. This will be my third time there. Close to Playa but away from the noise. LOVE IT!

(At night, I like it quiet to sleep!)
