We worked in the yard and house yesterday and today.

Knocked off about 4:30 and shared a bottle of wine in the back yard.

Had brisket and shared some more wine.

Relaxing now

Last load of laundry in the dryer

Laundry Man is almost done for the week

Feeling sad for our friends across the street. The matriarch of the family is dying. She raised quite a family. She has lived at our friends house for the last 3 years while the took care of her. Saturday they could not wake her, she suffered a stroke and is lapsing in and out of a coma. The whole family showed up yesterday and again today, and they are waiting. She was a great woman, put up with an asshole of a husband finally leaving him about 20 years ago, after she reached the age of 60. She makes a great tamale filling.
Consuelo is a great woman who has influenced many even outside of her family (me included ). It is my greatest hope that she passes quietly, and in no pain. Her brave spirit (and wonderful upbeat humor) will be missed by all that know and love her...

Sorry for your loss, family W.

My weekend is not over yet, one more day to go. Went to see my doc this morning and spent some time with my sister and my niece this afternoon. I wanted to take some outdoor pics of my niece in their garden and I bought her a little ball to play with. She loved it and she is always modelling nicely for us (she does cast me strange looks when she sees me and I don't have a camera in front of my face ) .

Herniated disk C6 - C7
Pushing against a root nerve, whatever that is.

Woohoo, that's my 3rd herniated disk.

Damn Mike,

You and Dana will have to tell war stories in August

What's the treatment?

What's the treatment?
More anti-inflammatories - which so far after 3+ months don't seem to do much.
or
Physical Therapy - Might or might not work.
or
See an orthopedic surgeon. - Most likely will recommend physical therapy or cortisone shot

Geeze, Mike, that's not good. Same for Uno.

C6-7 is where John had his latest discectomy. His titanium fusion was at C5-6.

John is now 5 weeks post-surgery and no better than pre-surgery. In fact, he's a bit worse. Still no voice back either. They are worried his voice is permanently damaged from the strain on his vocal chords due to the long surgery, and he is going to an ear-nose-throat soon. Most importantly, they worry they may have to go back in and see what's going on at the new disc; may have to end up with a double fusion C5-C7.

I feel for both of you, because I know what John goes through with back pain. Hopefully you both can find some relief without surgery.

((HUGS)) for John. I was really hoping that this would work for him.
