Thanks for the info. It is good to know that someone already calls if there is a number on the tag. I guess it was obvious, but I guess not everyone knows that Sylvie is doing it. Good on her! I know that a lot of people work very hard to save as many of these dogs as possible. Its heartbreaking when everyone is full and the dogs can`t be saved. My focus is on seeing if the probability of having the dogs reunited with their original owners could improve. That way, as you say, there would be more space for the shelters to take more of the dogs.
If the situation is that some of the locals don`t know how to find the perrera, don`t know that there is a perrera that might have their dog that they could get back etc. then outreach could help. If the situation is really that they don`t want the dog back then it probably won`t. Many of you have been working on these problems a lot longer than I have, but some times fresh ideas can be helpful. |
