New English Speaking Rotary Club in PDC

We have a brand new English Speaking Rotary Club now in Playa del Carmen. We meet every Tuesday at Wah Wah's on the beach at 12:30. Lunch is 120 pesos and includes bottomless iced tea. We are currently looking for members and good deed projects in the community. Come as our guest and see what we do. It is a great place to network and meet new friends.

Hi,

I would love to come and be part of the club, I have never been part of a Rotary Club before, I did a quick search on Google and saw that its a helping the community sort of club. Could you please give me a bit more information, as I am new to all this.

What sort of events/communtiy work do you participate in?

Is it an informal club, or do you have to commit to coming every week?

Is there a joining fee?

How many members of there club are there?

Thanks for your help, Nichola

Hi Nichola! Come and we can learn together. Today is only our third meeting. I only know as well that Rotary does good things for the community. So far we are not paying any membership we are just coming together to learn what Rotary is all about and plan our first projects. The more people we have in the club ... the better it is for all. I am meeting some great people who are becoming new friends.

Nice to hear. I will be down for 5 weeks this summer and another 3 around Christmas. I look forward to doing some make-ups with your club.

Excellent! We will look forward to meeting both of you. Claudia, can you make it tomorrow? We are preparing for our first fundraiser with a table at the Andale Bazaar this Sunday.

Hi Cindy! Wah Wah's is on the beach at 2nd street. The staff all wear bright yellow t-shirts.
I promise you can't miss it! See you soon.

Hi Suzanna, sorry I was unable to make it, but please talk to Karen the organizer of the Bazar and she will give you a free table if she knows it is a charity and if she likes your projects she might consider donating the proceeds of the table rental to one of your projects as well, they pick a different charity each year. and it is one of the requirements of the City hall to issue the permissions to have the event.

send me an e mail to claudiadeplaya at hotmail dot com if you want to meet before Sunday. I´m planning to have a table with my son and a friend too =)

If you guys are still meeting/organizing, I certainly would like to meet you all and see how I can help. Sounds like a cause I can get behind.

OK then. I'll be at the next one. I had heard from a few people that Rotary policy was that new members were to be specifically invited via a referral from an existing member. You can't believe everything you hear, I suppose, eh.
