That was interesting to see - thank you
![]() I'd love to visit and see the amazing buildings. On the downside, was the traffic as insane as I've heard it is? I'm used to Mexico style by the way! Is the sea clean for swimming? I've read reports, from 3 years ago, of the sewer system being overloaded and 'waste' being dumped into the drains by the lorries instead of taking it to the treatment plant. These drains lead to the sea... How easy was it to get around the city? Walking, metro, taxis etc. |

Thank you!
Well the traffic was ok for me, coming from Athens where it is really insane ![]() The sea seemed attractive , but the yellow-red flags in the sand - mark for waves and currents - discouraged me so i didn't swim. It's easy to get around..taxis are reliable and cheap. Metro rail system is nice -although there are not many routes. But it passes through the big buildings of Sheikh Zayed Road and connects the main malls with the airport. Walking is not recommended. It's unbelievably hot. Even the bus stations are airconditioned because it's a torture to wait for the bus in the heat. Abras as they call the water buses take you to the shouks (traditional markets). Really nice to get around and see the old Dubai.. |
