Allen took these pictures !

Excellence Martini - yumo

The iceberg - this is a beer with a frozen margerita on top. I thought it would be yuck...but it was really refreshing and delish (I am drinking one now)

Sounds a bit like a Mexican version of the shandy - Brits drink it - beer and lemonade

My room was right under yours, right next to that bridge you see in the left side of your photo - it was a swim out room so ground floor. We'd swim out and over to that bar to order Electric Lemonades in the morning. Ahhh, the memories!

Electirc Lemonades you say? Yes please!

If you took this photo from that bridge, ours was the very first room!

Why did we never see this? Oops!

ALWAYS good to know what booze a hotel offers!

Love the electric lemonades...and all those wonderful "healthy drinks" from the spa bar ! There was one they made from oranges, grapfruits and lemons - mixed with yorgut, honey and granola...sort of high energy drink - it was DELISH !

They had a wine tasting event at the resort......the wine celler is amazing by the way. I wish I would have taken some pictures...but I did not want to take pictures at the tasting. This was a really nice event put on by the wine sommelier - with a tour of the wine celler. You did have to sign up for it, they kept it small - a min of 12 people. A must do if you like wine and cheese !
They offer private dinners in the celler - This would have been nice for a group party !

They did our table up at Cafe Isabella for our special anniversary dinner !

The food was the best - I have been to quite a few AI resorts and the food here was over the top.....hands down. I loved the fact that there were no reservations...and no wristbands at this resort....and you did not have to go to a buffett. They had one for breakfest and lunch. But they also had a la cartes - which were over the top even for breakfest and lunch. Their house wines and champagnes were all very good and high quality. Champagne for every meal ! ha They also brought a bottle of my favorite champagne to the room and Allen got a bottle of his favorite scotch. ($85 bottle). Nice touch !

Also left in our room were logo caps, logo polo shirts, and a large logo beach bag, along with fresh flowers and a large fruit basket. Mini bar was stocked with everything you can think of - even snacks (snickers, M&Ms, chips, etc) - Every night some sweet treat would be left (homemade cookies, brownies - etc). The spa also send up a basket of goodies (soaps/lotions etc) with some spa coupons to try to entice you to sign up for a spa treatment. Every day was a special gift left by the resort.

The afternoon heat really took its toll on me one day so I signed up for a cooking class one afternoon.
Only 3 people signed up for this, so we got lots of time and special attention. I have to say...I loved this and it has inspired me to want to take a few more classes in the future. I really learned quite a bit. I mentioned how much I loved a dish I had the night before at the french resteraunt and the chef showed me how to prepare it. (a delish onion, apple, pear, raseberry vegan dish...I know, sounds strange, but one of the best dishes I have ever tasted).

Me too! It looks very similar to the Barcelo Palace but sounds like you get a lot more 'extras'....always nice!

Love the onyx on the bar...was it backlit at night? Gorgeous!

We took the ferry and made a day trip to Isla.

Rented a golf cart for the day ($50) and "toured" the island - several times. Loved this.

Great day - would love to go back and rent a house/condo for a week and spend more time on that island.
