A great trip...even my hubby enjoyed it. He has never been overly fond of vacations because he travels so much....but it was nice to see him truly enjoy himself.
We would go back to Excellence Playa Muj. in a heartbeat....I have to admit, I love the fact there were no kiddos running wild. I booked a suite with a roof top plunge pool (those pics did not ccome out) - but we only used it twice, so really not worth the extra cost. I thought the swim up rooms were nice, but honestly not worth the extra money - I think I would save the money and get a regular room (they are plush ) and will stay a few extra days next time. I loved my swim out room, and I usually don't go for those, especially the ones that have grass between the patio and the pool (as these do). But...I was there in August and we were the envy of anyone that didn't have a swim out room. We'd set up a table next to the edge of the pool with our drinks (ice bucket and champagne
), grab a couple of rafts and float through the lazy river portion of the pool. It was way too hot to lay out in the sun, or be anything but wet. Even though the pool was probably 100 degrees, at least it was wet! Then we'd hop out, order room service for lunch and eat it on the patio. Then...back to floating. It was a rough rough trip, let me tell you.

I will check, the beach/water was fine, lots of palm trees and sunbeds to (I like shade) with several beach bars and walk around service....(hey that counts to) .....they had some seaweed wash up one morning, but it was swept up by 9 am.

Sounds good!! Shade is good, yup. Especially this time of year. ![]() Beach service is a big plus. They only had poolside bar service at the Barcelo Palace, we missed having service on the beach there.

We have booked for the Playa Excellence Mujeres for May. Anything we should know? We have stayed twice at the Excelllence Canun in Puerto Morales and had nothing but a great experience both times.
Wanted to try Mujeres this trip. Your pictures were great. Thanks for posting. Can't wait until May. Bob |
