Disco Queen loses battle with cancer

Donna Summer, a sweetheart of a lady, lost her battle with cancer at 63.

I used to love Donna Summer! What type of cancer did she have?

I remember when I was nine, her Greatest Hits album was one of the very first albums my mom bought me....I loved this song...still know all the words. I remember it from 'Foxes'.

She died from breast cancer.

Tappy, over here they report that she had cancer in the lungs and not breast cancer. And all german news-sites report that so it is not just one time I read that. Guess we will find out later what is true...

I read that to....there have been conflicting reports of the type.
The breast cancer forums I post on said she had breast cancer, but did not want it public because of her career.
Either way - Cancer is horrible.

Quite often lung cancer has spread and will show up elsewhere first....the breast cancer might have been secondary to tumours in her lungs....you never know.

at any rate, yes, cancer just plain sucks.

TMZ says that several sources have noted that Donna claimed that she contracted lung cancer by breathing in toxic air while she was near/at ground zero at the time of 9/11.

you make me feel old....I bought her albums myself. I always played them while cleaning..dancing and dusting. The disco floors would be jammed packed whenever one of her songs was playing. And I couldn't stop myself from Beep beeping the horn while driving.
