Working from home/Remotely? How about a shared work space in Playa...
So I live in Playa and work from home over the internet for a German company. Being in the pad 24/7 is driving the misses nuts, and the caffeine hit from working in starbucks is unsustainable! So I had an idea. If there are a group of folk who do what I do (work from home, or over the internet, or are starting up a small business) in Playa, how about renting a low-cost appartment or office, fit it out with the basics, internet, furniture... and provide a simple place to work where caffeine-related heart attacks are optional rather than obligatory!
Costs would be shared, we wouldn't make money from it. It would just be mutually beneficial. So I'm just putting the feelers out here: I don't even know if there would be demand for something like this in Playa! Let me know! |

I will be in Playa starting September 1st for at least 8 months, and possibly a lot longer. I would be interested in this for sure, but wouldn't be able to permanently commit to chipping in.. If you do end up doing this and I would be able to pay per month for use (at least to start).. let me know!

When my gal read this the other day, she laughed and said "this sounds like us". I have been working from home since we got here in 2010. Since we're not leaving PDC till they throw us out, I'd entertain the idea if the cost is low enough to justify it.

Now thats the ticket!
Tell the old lady your renting an apartment with some other guys, to work out of, and, and, I pulled the night shift! see you in the morning!!! count me in for my fair share! just kidding, but sounds like a good idea for someone stuck 24/7 in the same place working and living! That's a coincidence because I saw your post on the forum yesterday and I sent you an email about it. I'm certainly interested. If you didn't receive the email, let me know and I'll re-send it via the forum instead. Thanks Tom |

We'll be out there starting Jan 2 for at least a month, and I'll likely be looking for a place to go get some work done that's not Starbucks or a beach bar (or maybe a beach bar would work great as a place to work...)
I'll keep this in mind! |
