end of june - third time in playa
hi, all.
i am headed to playa for 10 days at the end of june. this will be my third time there. i'm not looking for typical tourists spots as far as restaurants, nightlife and daytime outdoor activities. yes, i realize that will possibly hard to find with pdc being a tourist town and all. ![]() all positive input is appreciated. i'm looking to possibly hang out with expats, locals and/or other people visiting the area. i am into sup (stand up paddle) and other than being a beach bum, that will likely be my only planned activity. as far as nightlife, i'm not a big drinker, but i am a groover. any insight to good electronic music minus the flashy lights and overly-intoxicated patrons is appreciated. if i have to, i'll resort to la santanera again for nightlife. ![]() a daytime place to get my groove on would be be nice, too. i'm aware of mamitas. i'll likely end up there a few days if you guys don't have other suggestions. does anyone know of any organic places to eat and/or buy food other than the d.a.c. market? let me know what you know. ![]() mil gracias, ana Last edited by ana_nc; 05-28-2012 at 07:12 AM.. |

we brought our inflatable paddle board to Playa last April. We are used to paddling in calm water and the water was too rough for us to paddle. Saw a couple experts doing great though. Don't know about organic, but La Cueva Del Chango is one of my favorites for breakfast. They make everything home made including their delicious granola. Never been there for lunch or dinner. There are a ton of beach clubs. Cannibal Royale is a neat little beach club. Kool has always been our favorite.

i am waiting for my inflatable board to arrive - i don't think it will be here before i leave for mexico. ![]() la cueva del chango sounds good. i'll definitely give them a try - i may end up there every morning. do you mind giving me the location?i LOVED canibal royal's food my first visit to pdc. i was there every other day. it was absolutely horrible when i returned on my second visit. hopefully they have decided to go back to good quality food. i really like kool as a beach club, but wasn't impressed with their food. thank you so much for your input. i really do appreciate it.

where are you getting your board from? We originally got one from REI and ended up returning it. Wasn't happy with the quality. Ordered one from ULI, it's a company out of California that only makes inflatables. We love it! La Cueva is on 38th st between 5th ave and the beach? I think.
