A bit off topic, but I have a funny story (more like scary story) involving a transfer nightmare of our own here in the U.S. A while back my husband and I always used a shuttle service to and from the airport here in Philadelphia. On one particular trip the van picked us up from the airport to go home around midnight. It was a cold and rainy November night. First, we get in the van and it reeks of cigarettes. Okay, just an annoyance I'll let it slide. Once we get moving the driver lights up a cigarette. Cigarette in one hand, he is then drinking a soda in the other, driving down I-95 in the pooring raining doing about 80mph. He's barely keeping the van in his lane around the turns in the road. We are the only people in the van and by now I'm freaking out and telling this guy to slow down, put out his cigarette, put down his soda and pay attention! Before we know it.... we aren't 10 minutes away from the airport and the police are pulling us over. The cop is reaming this guy out about his responsiblities and obligations to his passengers and his blatent disregard for the driving conditions, and he has no business driving in that manner under optimal conditions. He gets several tickets!!!!

I can't say that the ride home was picture perfect, but amazingly we arrived safely. I called the service the following day and told them of the situation. I gave kudos to the guy who took us to the airport, very safe and courteous. However, I did want my money back for the return trip and the delay involved with the police. Her response was "well I can't do that, since he did get you home". I was floored at that response. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to let $35 send me over the edge, so I let it go. But, every trip from that point on has started and ended with my husband driving our own car to the airport. We have remained incident free.

Our transfers have been very smooth in Mexico - although we have never used Lomas - I hope our trip in November is also just as smooth.
