Staying in Playa June 30th - Day Trips Q

We will be staying in Playa at the end of the month. We would like to take a day trip to Isla Mujeres, but have a few questions. I guess the ferry to Isla is from Cancun, so how much trouble is it to make that trip. Worth it? Plenty to do on Isla? Appreciate the help. Thanks

Definitely worth it! Take the ADO bus up to Cancun, then taxi to Puerto Juarez, ferry over(much shorter ride than ferry from PDC to Cozumel. Rent a golf cart and have fun! Make sure you go to the southern tip, go by the lagoon to see the home made of recycled stuff on an island of plastic bottles, visit the turtle farm, have drinks and appetizers at Los Rancheros on the eastern side, have breakfast at the Mango Cafe, just lot to do! Have a great time!

Hi All-in, I also answered your PM, but Yes! Our day trip to Isla was the highlight of our trip.

We want to go back and stay on the island next time. I will be posting a trip report soon, not sure if it will be before you leave, but many peeps here have been to Isla as well and I am sure you can find plenty of info on the board.

Rent the golf cart, head down to the south end (Punta Sur) and work your way up, stopping at road side vendors, cafe's and bars along the way. Plenty of interesting landmarks to explore also. We also loved the "drive-thru" beer store.
