4th Of July

I'm heading out to stay in Catalonia Riviera Maya in July and although I'm not American was wondering is there anywhere in PDC that will be putting on a party/celebrations for 4th July?

Any advice appreciated.

July 4th is an American holiday, not a Mexican one. I don't recall much going on in Playa that day but maybe someone local will know more.

Because AI resorts are frequented by so many Americans, some do have some kind of celebration - I know the Now, Dreams and Secrets resorts do, mainly because these are American owned hotels. I can't say if the Catalonia will, not being owned by an American hotel. It may be business as usual or there may be some kind of event. You can try sending them an e mail to ask if they will be doing anything special that day, or ask on their Facebook page.

Thanks for the reply.

Will be loooking to get out of the hotel that day. Have read before that as a lot of Americans travel there that some places might have celebrations going on in around Playa Del Carmen.

We saw a few things pop up at the last minute last July4th - Wicky's was one of them. Other than Wicky's, I would expect that Wah Wah's might do something this year since they are open now. We saw a couple of other impromptu signs out in front of a few other places, but most of them were just discounts on a meal, not really a party.

Check out these two, and maybe Zenzi and Fusion - they are likely to put something together as well, but probably last minute.

I stayed in Cancun, during a 4th of July, across the street from Seņor Frogs and they actually had a fireworks show. That was many years ago, not sure if they still do.

To my knowledge Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more in the US than Mexico. Is it even celebrate it much outside of Puebla?
