Gala Beach Resort Playacar Questions before I send deposit

I've heard that Gala only serves two kinds of beer, is that correct? Also, do they offer "top shelf" liquor? (actually I would settle for Smironoff sp?). I have also heard that their margaritas are delicious...any comments?

I'm bringing three kids, ages 12, 11 & 9 does anyone have any comments about activities planned at the club for kids this age?

Jr "family" suites in the Hacienda area ...any comments on that? I'm sure it is just a bigger hotel room, but would love to hear comments on cleanliness, etc.

I booked the trip but still can get out of it if need be!

Don't really know about beer choices. I simply said cerveza.

Drinks are fine. If you tip and request a brand, you will get it.

We don't use the daycare so I can't comment on that.

Hacienda Jr. suites are 2-6 minute walk from the main resort area, very quiet, especially at night. They come with a small private pool for each building (10 rooms) great for relaxing after a day at the beach or lazy mornings, etc. I stay in them every year.

They serve Corona from the bottle (they pour into cups from big bottles).

Lots of activities going on all day for the kids. They have a mini-club for the little ones, an in-between club for the 7-12 yr. olds, and the teens seemed to just join together and do the activities with the adults when we were there. They have soccer tournaments on the beach, volleyball, ping pong, darts, etc.

Drinks were good, and you can ask them to add more alcohol if you want them stronger.

I drank some brand of Vodka that was "upper" shelf but I don't remember the brand. They didn't have Absolut or Ketel one, They did have Smironoff if I remember right.

The suites are in the back of the resort, so you won't get an ocean view, but they looked really nice and quiet. They also have a little shuttle golf cart thing that will pick you up.

You'll love it! We're going back for our second visit this summer!!

Thank you for your information! Perhaps we will see you there this summer! (of course you don't know what I look like, but I could assure you if you see a happy woman on the beach under the shade with a good book, a good man, and a good drink in her hand...it is me!!!!)
