Tulum & Belize City
Hey Everyone -
We loved out first trip to Mexico so much we're going to do it again! We're considering flying into Cancun and taking the ADO to Tulum for a couple of days (El Paraiso Beach Club was amazing). Then we'd like to hop down to Belize City. Can anyone help me on the best (and safest way) to get to Belize from Tulum? I'm having trouble finding out if ADO runs that. And frankly, I don't even know if it's possible. Thanks much! Tabitha |

We actually we're just hoping to use the ADO as a way to get into Belize. I've done a little reading and is seems it is possible to go from Cancun to the Belize border on ADO.
We're not actually staying in Belize City at all. Any suggestions on places we might want to check out? We fell in LOVE with Tulum! Thanks! |

You can catch an ADO bus from Tulum-Chetumal, where you'll have to pick up one of the Belizean bus lines that'll take you to Belize City or wherever it is you would like to go. There are pretty frequent departures, probably every 4 hours or so. Most of the buses stop in Corozal & then Orange Walk on the way to Belize City.
If you have time, you could break up the trip & spend a night in Chetumal & see the Museo de La Cultura Maya. There's a hotel right next to the bus station, Hotel Santa Teresa (Chetumal Mosaico), where a lot of travelers in transit stay. |
