morning to evening to tulum

Thanks to everyone for your patience with my questions and to those that have answered.

What is the best cost-effective way to travel to Tulum from morning into late evening?

Colectivo? (Or is late evening too late?)
Taxi?
24 hour car rental?
Pay a reliable local?

Signed,
Ana, really appreciates your feedback

Mayab is a bus.

The ADO bus from Playa to Tulum is the least expensive and most secure way to go. You'll just have to find out what time the last bus leaves, and it wouldn't hurt to by a ticket for it ahead of time - they can sell out. Colectivos scare the bejesus out of me too, won't use one ever again unless for some reason I have no other choice. Then again, I might walk instead!

I guess that I should not have used the word maybe, so just ADO bus. Does that work for you? Plus the station in Tulum is right across from Don Cafeto's and you never said where you wanted to get to in Tulum. Could be Tulum Town?, the ruins?, the beach?

I didn't use Mayab at all. You don't want Mayab anyway.
