Cancun to Playa
Hola a todos!
Some of you may already know me or have seen me around town with a camera on my head or driving my multi-colored convertable vocho. I am new(ish) to Playa. I moved here from Cancun and I am working with Michele at BuyPlaya.com. I will be making tons of videos and blogging about the whys, whos and whats of Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya. If you see me around town with my cameras out, either smile or get out of the way! LOL! If anyone has an event, blog idea, great story or anything they'd like to see posted on any of my blogs please let me know! I can't wait to get to know you all! |

Hi Lisa, nice to see you posting. I saw an earlier post about native plants from you. I would love to see more about native plants, birds, trees and other fauna and flora. My parents were big naturalists and were always carrying around books about local specie where ever we vacationed. Apparently I've picked up the bug and I'm forever looking at birds and flowers and wondering what they are, where they come from and how they incorporated into the locale. Guides are plentiful but wouldn't it be fun to do a bird watch??? Call me a geek but I never seen one and would be really interested.

I have not seen a formal bird watching group here in Playa del Carmen, but there are many interesting birds to be seen in this region. I saw an Oriole the other day here in Playa! Please let me know if you ever find a bird watching group! I would love to tag along! I will be sure to post a link to anything I write about the flora and fauna of the region. I highly recommend the book that I reviewed in the post you are referring to, "Plants in the Mayan Culture" it has wonderful photos of local plant life and detailed information about their usage. So nice to meet you and everyone else here on the forum! Thank you all for the warm welcome! See you īround town!! |
