Sitting out here on the front porch with a glass of wine and the iPad, it is a comfortable 70 degrees and the day is starting to draw towards a pleasant conclusion

Boss sent out an email letting everyone off at 2:00pm today. I got around to reading the email at 3:15. Been that kind of day.

Our eldest is coming home from camp in Hawaii tomorrow morning. We are picking him up at O'Hare at 5am. OY!

And then we are having a big open house party tomorrow, as the Village parade goes right in front of our house at noon.

And it is forecasted to be 100 degrees F!

Lots of beer/wine/water/juice in the coolers.

The kids came down from Portland last night. I just started the smoker. The 3rd annual Ribdependence Day is underway. Colleen is making hashbrowns and link sausage and eggs for us. I'll be starting the ribs shortly.

We're going to take a walk, go buy some stuff and then proceed to home projects.

I expect to finish power washing the deck in plenty of time to grill a couple of flank steaks

Worked this morning and on my drive home I observed:

- 1 car driving bet. 20-30 mph in a 45 mph zone for the majority of my trip home
- several mopeds weaving and teetering
- 1 car cut me off to enter a parking lot, only to block my lane to talk to a friend
- 1 car attempt to drive into me coming out of the same parking lot
- 1 man standing in the middle of an intersection talking on his phone- I was half turned into said intersection and there was a loooong line of cars behind me waiting to get by, but his conversation was a lot more important than any of that.
